On the Human Services Committee, Melissa’s focus includes improving access to essential health services, supporting mental health initiatives, and addressing the needs of vulnerable populations. She has worked on legislation to enhance support for individuals with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD), improve access to mental health care, and ensure that all Pennsylvanians have access to the services they need to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. Serving on the Human Services Committee, she advocates for policies that promote well-being and support nonprofit organizations providing critical services.
On the Aging & Older Adult Services Committee, Melissa had shown a strong commitment to aging and older adults, focusing on policies that support their well-being and quality of life. Melissa has worked on legislation to improve services and resources for seniors. Key initiatives include ensuring access to essential health services, supporting caregivers, addressing the workforce crisis in long-term care facilities, protecting financial security, and encouraging community engagement.
On the Children & Youth Committee, Melissa is dedicated to supporting the well-being, education, and development of children and youth. Her initiatives include enhancing literacy programs, supporting school libraries, improving mental health care for new mothers, addressing juvenile justice reforms, establishing protocols for tick removal in schools, and creating volunteer mentorship programs. On the Tourism, Recreation, & Economic Development, Melissa has shown a strong commitment to promoting tourism, recreation, and economic development in my district and across Pennsylvania. Her priorities include supporting local tourism initiatives, advocating for the development and maintenance of our parks and recreational facilities, and focusing on policies that encourage local business growth, job creation, and economic opportunities. Her efforts aim to create a vibrant and thriving community, attracting visitors and providing residents with opportunities for growth and enjoyment.
